THE SUN IS WATCHING

Hi there, Xuchilbara's here!

Today we announce our new game — The Mechanical Noon. We started the development over 2 months ago. Now is the time to show you some of our progress.

The Mechanical Noon is a survival-horror strategy set in an occult village, controlled by the watchful deity named the Mechanical Noon. The game will test your personal survival skills while never letting you forget your duty — protecting the villagers.

1/ Base Gameplay.

The Player's main character is the Sarcificer. His responsibility is to keep fire within the Mechanical Noon and protect the Village from the deadly Black Fog.

His name is Ivan, obviously.

The Village stays protected from the Fog with the power of the Mechanical Noon's light. Moreover the villagers managed to drive the Fog away with the power of the Guiding Lights around their settlement.

Although the Sacrificer is the most important character of the game, he is not the only one. All of the villagers stay under player's control and can be given tasks.

Villagers have different specializations. Each is vital for the Village survival:

  1. Hunters are collecting food.
  2. Fire Spinners are fuelling the Guiding Lights.
  3. Healers help villagers to rest and restore strength.

The Fog grows stronger every minute, the Mechanical Noon dies out, the Guiding Lights weaken. The power of the light won't be enough to contain the Fog and this is where the sacrifices take place.

Feed it. Feed the Mechanical Noon with the blood of the villagers in order to survive the day.

2/ Concept art: the Mechanical Noon.

Creating a vicious and mysterious atmosphere of the village we decided the Mechanical Noon should attract most of the player's attention. It heals, it protects, it kills.

The image represents an early concept art of the Mechanical Noon.

This is the final concept art of the Mechanical Noon.

Golden, artificial deity. That's what the Mechanical Noon is. This creature needs bloody sacrifices to maintain its light. So we designed an altar, which represents it's dark and hungry nature.

This is an altar, where the sacrifices are made.

The Guiding Lights must represent another aspect of the Mechanical Noon — its caring and warmth. So we tried to make them look similar but softer, more natural.

Finally, we've designed the architectural appearance of the village. What would a village worshiping such an ambivalent deity look like? Our answer is: golden and luminous.

Each house is illuminated by parts of the Guiding Lights.

That’s all there is for now! Next week we'll show you some of our 3D-models and interface developments. Until next time!
